Since 2013, I worked with the Concordia Student Union to get the Concordia Foundation to adopt a socially responsible investment (SRI) plan that negatively screens for fossil fuels. In 2014, Concordia agreed to test pilot an SRI portfolio that divests from fossil fuels and adopts the Principles of Responsible Investing (PRI) of the United Nations. Furthermore, the Concordia Foundation created the Joint Sustainable Investment Advisory Committee (JSIAC). In 2019, Concordia announced that the pilot project was successful and they would adopt an SRI for the remaining investments. Here is an article about my involvement with the divest movement at Concordia.
Here are the reports I presented to the Concordia Foundation and President’s Executive Committee.
