Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great week. Here’s what we will be doing at our meeting on Friday, December 4th. 

1 – Check in and Updates

2 – Review of chapters from ‘Food and the City’

Chapter 6 – Paris
Chapter 9 – Vancouver
Chapter 10 – Toronto
Chapter 14 – Cuba
Chapter 15 – Conclusion

This activity will be interactive. Students will answer the following questions about each chapter in breakout rooms then we will have a larger discussion together. This will not be recorded because I am encouraging you all to participate.

Questions:

1 – What is the chapter about? What are the main points, claims and discussion points? What forms of evidence are provided to support these claims?
2 – What are the key issues related to urban agriculture discussed in the chapter?
3 – What are the strengths and limitations of urban agriculture discussed in the chapter?
4 – How do the concepts discussed in the chapter relate to other concepts in the course?
5 – Have the groups, projects and organizations mentioned in the chapter still exist? What do they currently do?
