February 7 – Food Meaning and Practice Preparation for Blog Post

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. On February 7th we will be having our first in-person class of the semester in room H-509. The goal of the class is to get you comfortable with being back in person and to discuss your first blog posts. 

I am splitting the class into two groups. The first group will attend class from 8:30 – 9:30 PM. The second group will attend class from 9:45 until 10:45 PM. This will allow you to better physically distance in the classroom. If you are comfortable being in an in-person classroom, let’s also be respectful to students who may be nervous to be around other students. I have got a lot of emails from students expressing anxiety and some of excitement. I hope to make everyone comfortable, however you feel about coming back to campus. The following week, we will likely all be back together for the full class. 

You should have got an email indicating which group you are in. If you didn’t receive an email, please let me know ASAP

Both groups are also expected to watch Forage (a four part series about food, cooking and foraging) before class on the 14th of February and submit a short paragraph of what you learned from the videos. Please bring a hard copy of the paragraph to class on the 14th if you want participation points.
