March 24 – Food and Agriculture
Hello everyone, I developed COVID symptoms and will not be having class in person. Instead, I will give you the time to meet with your groups and work on your community service-learning projects. We will NOT meet via Zoom because I know it is difficult for some of you to maneuver online on short notice. Also, I am feeling pretty lousy. Fortunately, I have a video of the lecture I was going to do today from 2020, feel free to watch it if you want to have help understanding the course readings.
Here are some important pieces of information:
1 – Here is a link to the types of reports you must complete for your community service-learning project and auto-ethnography final report. Please take a detailed look and discuss these reports with your group.
- Report for auto-ethnography (if you are working with an organization by yourself)
- Report for group projects
2 – Feel free to watch this video about Food, Agriculture, Race, Gender, Class
3 – Once I feel better and am allowed to return to campus. I will set up office hours to give you back your first blog. I will also give you an extension so you can get feedback before submitting your second blog. Once I hold office hours, I will give you a week to complete your second blog. Feel free to get started. You can tweak your blog once you receive your first blog back. I gave everyone detailed written feedback on your assignment.
4 – Don’t forget about the event Soup, Salad, Solidarity tonight. There may still be room if you haven’t signed up yet.
5 – Have a great day. I hope you all receive this in time to make alternative plans with your group.
